So I bought a jeep wrangler unlimited and want to tow it. Currently pulling a CR-V on a roadmaster all terrain 10,000lb towbar that I would like to continue to use. I am looking at the Blue Ox baseplate arrangement as it appears there are adapters that Roadmaster sells to make the Roadmaster towbar connect to the Blue Ox baseplate. I am also considering just getting the Roadmaster base plate. I'd like to minimize the amount of front clearance lost under the front bumper and it is hard to tell from the pictures on the web sites if there is any difference in this regard between the two options. Welcome any views on whether one alternative is better than the other. It appears the price is about the same either way.
Thanks in advance as always.

I also just purchased a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited to replace our Saturn Vue as a toad. I bought a Blue Ox baseplate yesterday on eBay a nd expect delivery within a week. I'll let you know how the install goes. From the pictures, it looks like it fits directly under the front bumper.

Install of the baseplate on a Wrangler is pretty straight forward (easier than on a Liberty). I installed on on my 98 in 05.

The only thing that is tricky is trimming the brush guard if it has one. If its new it does.
