Title: Dash air freon

Does anyone know how many pounds of freon in the dash air system? My mechanic asked and I thought I might try to find out but went through all my Manuel's and no luck!   Thanks steve

I tried to figure that out last summer.  The length from the dash to the compressor is so long, I don't think anyone knows for sure.

I bought a can at Autozone with a gauge on it and topped the system off.   The gauge on the can has a temperature adjusted goal for a range.  It seems to have worked OK.

Steve,
I a m not positive about the 89 Marquis, but I think that the capacity is about three pounds. Your 89 came with R 12, so if you are converting it over to 134 A refrigerant, be sure to add the required amount of PAG oil with the new refrigerant. The reason that the original refrigerant oil will not work with 134 A is that it will not mix with the 134 A, and therefore it will just pool in low spots in the system and cause compressor failures from lack of lubrication. Whereas the synthetic PAG oil blends with the 134 A and lubricates the compressor as it is being pumped through it.

Gerald, Which refrigerant did the 2002 Beavers come with. Mine has a manufacture date of 12/2001.  Thanks!  Henry

R134A....same as other vehicles of this era.

I have a 97 Beaver Savanha in great condition, and I would like to know what refrigerant was used when I bought it new in 97. I used 134 A to top it off a year ago. I hope this was the right thing to do.

Your 97 originally came with R134 A refrigerant in the dash A/C system.

Our A/C at the front was working very poorly and not cooling well. We had our RV tech figure out what was required and he used three cans of these as a starting point and it filled up perfect and is working VERY well now:

Look in your chassis handbook. It will tell you the amount for your coach
