I have a hitch on my 2000 PT that has 3 receiver tubes. Is mine an aftermarket hitch? It looks like it was made to support a big box, or one of those motorcycle lifts. I assumed mine was a 15k hitch, maybe I better not assume...

With 3 tubes, it's almost got to be after-market. There was a thread on hitches some time ago where Gerald noted where the weak spot(s) are on the frame to hitch welds. You may want to check it out to verify the weld spots can hold 10-15K.

I had a motorcycle lift installed on my motorhome early last year and one of the items that had to get changed out was the hitch, they installed a 3 receiver hitch just like you described. The 2 outboard tubes are used for the motorcycle lift itself and the center tube is used for the car/trailer towing. When I have my motorcycle lift installed I have to install a 2 ft. extension in the center tube to extend my hitch back far enough to be able to tow my car. Everything was provided with the lift. I can assume some imaginative people out there could come up with many innovative ideas for other uses for the outboard tubes. They advertise a 6000 lb tow capacity with this motorcycle lift system. Your coach came with a 5,000 pound rated hitch. There is a possibility that someone just welded the two extra tubes to your original hitch. If that is the case, you would still just have a 5,000 pound hitch. You should have the hitch checked by someone who can identify the difference before you exceed a 5,000 gross load, or a 500 pound tongue load.

Hello I had the same 3 hole hitch on my 2005 Thunder when I bought it used and the fellow who had the coach before me had a motorcycle so I would say it's for carrying a motorcycle. I had mine modified and now only the centre port is showing as I don't plan on carrying a motorcycle,ITs an very heavy duty made hitch with lots of supports bolted to the frame its not your regular hitch.

Michael's hitch is likely at least a 10,000lb one. As Gerald noted, Greg's is 5000 lb. He shouldn't exceed it regardless of the extra aftermarket anti-sway ports.
