I need to replace my front tires on my 2005 Monterey 40ft. I want to go to Michelins and am looking at the
295/80 R225 HLZ LRH.
Is this the right tire for my coach?
Any help will be appreciated.

Mine have "295/80 R22.5" and "XZA2" written on them.

The HLZ may be more of a long haul truck or transit bus tire:

John: before you buy tires, be sure to check the Monaco or the FMCA program. Saves a substantial dollar. P.S. The national dealer to which you will be reffered by either of the programs will be able to tell you which is the correct tire. I believe Bill is right i.e. the LH stands for long haul ?

John, there should be a sticker somewhere inside the coach specifying the recommended tire size along with front and read axle weights and maximum air pressures. On our 1997 Marquis, this sticker is just left of the drivers seat below the curtain motor. The weight rating is very important on these heavy coaches.

John, if this helps, I have a neighbor with an 05 40 ft Monterey. last spring he installed 315/80 xza2's on his steer axle. he ran the coach from ft myers to ny and back this yr. he loves the way it rides and drives. no clearance problems. if you check with the fmca pricing as mentioned you will find the 315's cost less than the 295's. just a thought!

Thanks to all for your info on the tires. I have decided to take Bill Sprague's suggestion on the
295/80 R225 XZAZ through FMCA.
Thanks again

John,
I believe those are XZA2 and not XZAZ...
