What do you guys think is the best brand of batteries to start our motorhomes?
Secondly, how do we keep them charged without starting the unit?
Cheers

Rex,
Interstate MHD-31s (950 CCAs) are pretty popular but not necessarily the best. Search the forum and you may get some better suggestions.
The echo charger will keep your chassis batteries charged when in storage if you have sunlight to run the solar panels which supply a charge to the house batteries. When they are charged, the echo charger supplies a charge voltage to the chassis units.

SAMs Club Duracell. Great prices.

I've found the battery pricing at Costco to be as good as any, the warranty acceptable, and Kirklands are made by a quality manufacturer, Johnson Controls, the same maker of Interstate Batteries. That is no guarantee they are the same, since they are built to each branded distributor's specs. But Kirklands seem to have a good reputation.

Thanks guys
So many choices, but no clear winner I guess.

Rex,
My 2005 Monterey came with all batteriesbeing Interstate. I have replaced them once with Interstate. They appear to perform well. An echo charger will keep chassis batteries charge if there is a charging source to the housebatteries. Magnum also has a similar device that seems to work better and ismore dependable. A cheaper but more sure way is to install a good trickle charger with an AC power source.
