Title: Temp range
Post by: LaMonte Monnell on June 25, 2014, 01:42:11 PM
I have a 2001 Contessa with a Cat 3126......

I was on the road recently and had coolant temps fluctuate from 186  to 203 several times, is this just the thermostat doing its job?

Also the transmission temp climbed to 200 occasionally. I have transyd fluid in the transmission. Is this ok?...just concerned is all.

That temperature range is normal. Keeping the radiator clean and the RPM arround 2000 when under load (climbing) helps also. If you search this forum you will vind several discussions about radiator cleaning.
