Title: Surge Guard Model 34750
Post by: Gary Wolfer on August 01, 2014, 07:28:08 PM
I purchased a Surge Guard Model 34750 It has no key The Key slot is pointing up and down toward the ON sticker and sideways to the bypass. Is it on if I plug it in? and can I get a new key from TRC?

I just purchased a new 34750 three weeks ago and I just looked at it and there is no key slot.  Did you purchase it new or used?

It is used Roy and after I made this post I found a copy of the owners manual and read off the manufacturers web site and it said the lockout was not such a good idea so they discontinued making them with a key. Fortunately it was not locked out so it fired up fine and most likely works just like yours. Thanks for your response.

Gary,
I have a Surge Guard Model 34560 (the hardwired version of your unit), and it came with a key but it has never been used in the twelve years that I have owned it. Just forget that there is a key slot there because there is no need to turn it off.
