Title: RC7 GS gen start
Post by: Doug Neal on August 19, 2014, 07:31:09 PM
Trace Engineering makes this non user friendly controller. It has a setting for the amp hr ratings of your batteries. Your choices are Auto, 125, 250, 375, 500 and 1000. I have it set on Auto but was told by an RV tech that it should be set on 375. The 4, 6 volt Trojan T-105 batteries are rated at 225 amp hr. Why would you need any setting other than Auto?

Doug,
I can not tell you the reasoning behind the RV technician's statement that the 375 setting was needed, but I agree with you that Auto should work with no problem.

I have found over the years that some RV technicians know less about the systems in a coach than the owner. That is the reason that I recommend that if you are not going to do your own maintenance, find a competent repair facility like BCS (Beaver Coach Sales) and stick with them so that you know you are getting sound advise.
