It was brought to my attention that there are no instructions on the forum about the difference between winterizing a coach with a Hurricane versus an Aqua Hot. The two systems are identical with one exception. Many coaches that are equipped with a Hurricane are also equipped with a SeaLand electric water heater.
To properly winterize all coaches, you pump RV Antifreeze (the pink stuff) through all lines until each outlet runs pink, including your washing machine and ice maker unless you can properly drain he ice maker. If you have a coach with an electric water heater, you have two options, you can drain the water heater and install a water heater bypass kit or pump the extra 6 gallons of pink stuff into the system that is needed to fill the water heater. Whichever system you have always run enough RV Antifreeze through the plumbing until pink runs at all outlets, both hot and cold, because all of our systems have a heat exchanger that will freeze and break if not winterized. The Hurricane has an external heat exchanger that is cheaper to replace than the internal exchanger in the Aqua Hot, but it is still a lot more expensive than winterizing.
The option to winterizing, and my favorite is to stay south of I 10 in the winter. Remember that cold is a four letter word.

I agree Gerald, COLD is a 4 letter word. That's why I live in Orlando. Rarely does it go below freezing for more than 4 hours or so this far south. I just plan on leaving the heat pumps on 65 or so and putting a heater near the tanks and water pump just in case but thats all. Do you think I need to worry about the hydrahot piping in the back of the unit?
