Title: Sumatoma tires
Post by: Roland DuBree on October 09, 2014, 12:22:53 AM
Anyone have any experience with Sumatoma tires?  I am looking at 275/70R22.5 tires for my 2001 Beaver Contessa.  I like the load/inflation tables and cost.  The load tables indicate I can run with air pressures in the 90 -100 psi range for the loads I have on wheel locations.  I like the lower pressures since I am able to more easily add air at lower pressures with the coach air system. The higher air pressures take forever to add.

I am about  to replace 2 fronts due to a slit in the slide wall of one of my Yokahama tires.  Clearly a tire failure according to Yokahama dealer but even with only 37000 miles on it they will not warrant any thing because it is over 4 year old.

I run Toyo's on my 2001 Contessa and with my weight I run 90 in front and 100 in the rear!

I've heard good things about those tires.  Personally, I went with Hankook in the same size and was very pleased.

If you Google Sumitoma Tires, they are the old Dunlop. They have been in the tire business in Japan since 1909. They started as a joint venture with British owned Dunlop.
