Title: Essex KE-1603 Keyless Entry Remote (Key Fob) Box
Post by: Dan n Lisa Lund on October 27, 2014, 11:04:40 PM
Hi All,

We figured out how to reset the keypad on the exterior and programmed it the first day we got the coach. (We felt so accomplished!) We're now trying to reset the key fobs after replacing their batteries. The coach manual says there is a remote control box behind the instrument panel on the dash. We've looked high and we've looked low and we can't find the box that we're supposed to unplug and then plug back in. I've Googled it to death and can't find a picture of what this mystery box looks like. Would anyone be willing to share a picture of theirs? I know a few of you must have the same one. They were very common across Monaco/Beaver 2003-2004. We'd like to get the fobs working since we spent the money to replace the batteries and all.  ;)

I'm attaching a picture of the keypad and fob. At least I THINK I am.

Thanks in advance!

Lisa

Dan, I believe ours is in the electrical bay.  Its a black square box about 6x6x1 inch with a loop antenna on top.  We dont have the key pad on ours though so it might be different.

Dan,
I had an '04 Marquis and the box was behind a panel in the magazine rack to the right of the passenger's seat. Had to remove 4 screws inside the rack to reveal the box and programming button. Don't know if the '03 is the same but you might look there.

That's where mine is... inside the wood magazine rack box under the copilot's right elbow.  Mine has a small square, about 5x5 inches square, piece of wood held onto the magazine rack with a couple screws.  I think the slide needs to be out and the seat well forward and turned sideways to easily access the site.
