Title: FAST IDLE not working
Post by: KC Snellgrove on August 21, 2015, 01:37:49 AM
Good day fellow Beaver LOVERS! I have noted the prior problems I have had with my 2005 Montery's battery tray sliding out when turning because the technician that worked on it did not put the clips back in to secure. I have discussed the problems with the fuses and thought all was resolved. However, I went to turn on the FAST IDLE switch and it would not go on. My question is whether or not there is a fuse somewhere for that? If so where? THANK YOU SO MUCH.  ;D

             Hi KC,

Do you  have a "Smart Wheel" steering wheel or is the cruise control switches located on the drivers side console?   Regards, Fred

KC Snellgrove: On my much older 98 Patriot, you must have the "Exhaust brake switch off" and the "cruise control switch on" before this will work. Just a thought.

KC, you mentioned a 400 Cat on bottom. which one , C-9, C-12. in trying to assist in helping with
your problem need more clear information. Reason if 400 Cat is a C-9 the engine has a heui injection
system. With a C-12 it has a high pressure electronic fuel system. there is different areas to address
with each engine. Dave Atherton Retired Cat Mechanic

That must be a C9, Dave - it's a 38 ft. Monterey.

Thanks Joel, I was  not sure what direction I could take for KC. The C-9 has a different
setup than the C-12. In answering KC post with correct engine, thing sound like a Event code
has taken place. CID 0164 -04  Injector Actuation Pressure Voltage low  what this means signal from injection actuation pressure sensor is below normal ( Cold Mode is not active ) The ECM will flag
injection actuation pressure as invalid data and a default value will be used. The ECM will set the
current for the control valve to a fixed value. again this is a event that will correct it self when event
is corrected. Dave Atherton Retired Cat Mechanic
