On the Monterey with the Norcold fridge there are two fans on the backof the fridg.Does any one know where the Therostat or whatever cycles them. I can't seem to get them running when the weather is hot and they are needed most

On my 03 Monterey with the single door refer I can hear it running when it gets above 85/90 degrees and it is all automatic. Nothing for me to do but listen to it running.

Do you refer to the operation fan for the refrigeration unit or an auxilary fan for the chase vent?
I had previous MH's which had small 12V auxilary fan but it was activated by a switch not a thermostat. I am preparing to install one on the Beaver and the supplied wiring allows only a short distance to the switch so it has to be close to the fridge in a cabinet.
Good luck

I need to know from where these two fans are fed and where the heat sensor is that controls them so that I can rewire them and control them with a switch because they do not respond to changes in temperature as they should. I can't get any info from Monaco.

The fans are wired to a thermal switch mounted next to the ice maker water control valve. This switch turns on at a temps over 85 degrees. Both fans are wired to come on at the same time. Very simple to put a switch and override the automatic one. If you are having a cooling problem, installing a manual swtich may NOT help.

The thermal control near the icemaker valve is for the heat tape on the ice maker line.

Ok, I know the fan wires come together in the wire bundle going up the back of the refrig. Could you disconnect the fans wires and hard wire them into a manual switch?
-
OK but which wires are the fan wires as it is not possible to see the fans through the access panel
-
OK I found the temp control for the fans, I removed the roof vent cover and found it attached to the cooling fins but can't get to it to disconnect it or jump it. Would have to remove the fridge to get to it.

took the easy route out. Bought 2 new fans and installed them with a switch. Enough room to attach fans to exterior wall of motorhome behind fridge and slightly above present fans.
