I need to replace the rear shocks on my 2001 patriot 33 with the roadmaster 8 shock system chassie
does anybody have a suggestion as to what kind would be best

Assuming your current shocks are Bilsteins, I would stay with them, especially for the rear. Konis have a great reputation for ride and control but cost about 75% more. IMHO you won't notice the difference in the rear in any case. I just switched from Bilsteins to Konis on the front of our Marquis. While they did seem to give a slightly better ride and control, I would have a real problem justifying the cost adder again. The improvement isn't anywhere near the added cost so I'm sticking with Bilsteins in the future. Regardless of which shock you decide on, Shock Warehouse seems to have good prices and free shipping.

Other than crawling under the coach, do you have a source for telling me the model # of my shocks?

Stan, Actually looking at them and getting numbers is the only way to be sure what you have, its a dirty job but somebody has to do it.

Looked up the shocks for my Contessa 2001...lists just the Koni's for $219 each......don't think I need them yet as I still have a great ride....
