Title: Contessa in the CAT shop!
Post by: LaMonte Monnell on September 14, 2015, 09:39:20 PM
Well, I finally bit the bullet and dropped the Contessa off at the CAT shop for a visual.

So far:

both belts need replacing

replace both thermostats

fan has a badly cracked blade tip(remove the fan to replace)

both rear wheel inner seals leaking

dash a/c compressor line needs replacement(leaks)

differential bushings worn out

LaMonte, looking at your list. It is my suggestion , (Cost) I would take the bottom 3 idems and
have second price given. think you will save lots of money. Yes the Cat Dealer can do this for you
but will cost double for what you have listed on the bottom 3.

Dave, I have had it at two other shops for repairs and left very unhappy. These were both well rated shops, one left a three foot long gouge down the side of the coach, then said it was already there. The other fixed my refrigerator supposedly.....went to pick it up and hadn't even done the work yet(hour and a half drive).....also had my lr slide extend on a main highway soon after this top shop worked on the slide.......

So at least I personally know the mechanic at CAT and know he will do everything correctly....cost more but will be fixed right and I will be happy. I don't like being taken advantage of by incompetent shops that suggest they know everything when they really do not!
