Title: Water manifold " flexible" connections !!!
Post by: Jeremy Parrett on November 08, 2015, 12:17:48 AM
I have a difficult to spot leak in my water manifold.  I believe its caused by the lack of flexibility in the manifold plastic  to pex tubing connectors.  These 1/2 inch plastic tubing connectors are now after 15 years  NOT FLEXIBLE !!  When you push the stainless panel back into place after servicing the dump valves etc  they offer a lot of resistance.  I am thinking this is stressing  one or two of the pex connections.
I found flexible stainless steel braided 1/2 inch both ends connectors in Home Depot so I am busy replacing all 6 of the old rigid ones.   This will certainly make reinstalling the water bay panel much easier  in the future ...... it may also solve the leak issue !!!

I like that idea!  Mine is older yet and doesn't leak (yet), however I don't look forward to getting behind that panel since you have to pull on the water pipes to get even a small amount access.  I did put a water sensor alarm behind the panel so if there were leaks I would know about it sooner than later.
