Title: RVA Jack replacement
Post by: Jim Shaw on February 23, 2016, 12:45:03 PM
I need to replace the front RVA jack on my 2003 Monterey and wanted to know if anyone has done this. Is it something that could be done without taking it to a shop? Also I am not getting any power to my front TV outlet with the ign. switch off. Any ideas would be helpful.
Thanks
Jim

I had the same issue with my TV on my 2001 Patriot. Just unplug the TV from the outlet it is currently in and move it to the other plug on the same outlet. They do that because they don't want the television to bother the driver when driving.

Not sure about the jacks. I had to have my back two jacks replaced last month and took it in to a shop.

Jim,
The receptacle that is powered all the time is either the other receptacle in the duplex box as Rebbecca noted or there is a separate duplex receptacle in the TV cabinet. I've seen  both options. The problem is probably a bad relay that disconnects power from the receptacle when the ignition is turned on. It is probably also in the TV cabinet. Try tracing the romex to locate it.

OK I was able to remove the front jack and found a used one with a six month warranty. Not a bad job, but you need to have the generator out. Will thy to find the relay for the TV outlet today.
Thanks Jim
