I have a 2008 Westport 42 that I've had a few months and finally got around to putting it on the scales. I was surprised that the front axle was nearing its maximum rating of 13,000 lbs. The coach was loaded, but I didn't expect the front axle to come close to the max. I have noticed, somewhat to my surprise that most DP's have their fuel and water tanks right behind the front axle. I would have thought that large weight source would have been closed to the rear axle, especially on a coach with tandem axles.
What does your 42-foot Contessa weigh? BTW, the total weight was 37,600 lbs. so a lot more weight could have been pushed back on the coach. Of course, that's something that can't be done now.

Our 2009 Westport total weight was 38,700 pounds with 13,850 on the front axle! That was with a tag pressure of 45 psi. I backed down the pressure on the tag to 37 psi to take some weight off the front axle. The weight was with full fuel and 75% fresh water. Haven't rewieghed since changing tag...I hope to be closer to your numbers.
