When I accelerate in my 2000 Marquis, there is a consistent, constant whine from the differential. Take the load off and it stops immediately. The whine is not overly loud, but certainly easy to hear. Normal? Any ideas?

Mike, in checking your differential for gear lube level and feeling nose cone where
u-joint connects for heat build up and if everything is ok. Next step check your
short drive line u-joints for heat and dry on grease. It sounds like you have a u-joint cup
'bearing that is dry. Last look at your short drive line and your ride height angle.
