Title: Oil gage reads 90 to 100 psi on 2003 Contessa
Post by: William Harmon on July 07, 2016, 03:59:37 AM
Oil gage consistently reads between 90 and 100 psi even when engine has warmed up.  Diagnostics digital reads 55 psi with engine warmed up and returns to 0 when key is turned off.  Is this something to be worried about?  Wondering if either is correct.  Engine is a Cummings 370 ISL.

William,
Parapharsing Gerald Farris; the gauges on the dash are pretty much for entertainment only. The digital readout on the Silverleaf or Aladdin is the accurate one.

When mine is cold it reads 95.  When it warms up the gauge reads 70 to 90 and the Aladdin always reads 55.  My understanding is that the computer was never connected to the Aladdin for oil pressure.
