Title: Cord Reel Fuse Location
Post by: Randolph Lewis on September 13, 2016, 02:32:03 AM
Our coach is in the shop for maintenance and I received a call saying the cord reel had stopped working. Can anyone tell me if it has a separate fuse and where to begin my search for it? Thanks in advance, Randy

Randy,
I think that your cord reel is feed from one of the circuit breakers next to the shore power breaker box. However, the only problems that I have encountered with an inoperative shore power reel on your vintage coach was either from a bad switch or a bad connection in the wire from the reel connector box and the switch. Beaver cut that wire between the reel and the switch for easier installation and their reconnection point is prone to corrosion especially in any coach that has been driven on a salted winter road.

On my 2000 the cord reel has a fuse (not a circuit breaker) on the small panel next to the shore power breaker box.  I know this because mine stopped working one day and I had to figure this out quickly!  8)
