Time for my Allison filter change at 3 years. I am in Phoenix AZ. Think Allison here is $$$$. We are heading to Florida next February and will be headed across I-10. Any recommendations for this service (price and quality) along that route will be greatly appreciated.

Ken,
Check out the Service Providers post. Iron Horse RV in San Antonio got 2 good reviews by members.

thanks Steve. I am familiar with them but never been there myself. I was not aware they did Allisons.

When I was in Phoenix two years ago, I had Massey's Truck and RV Repair replace a lift pump on my Cummins. I am sure they would also work on Transmissions. I was very happy with the service and I used them because of the recommendations I got off of this forum. I would at least give them a call and get an estimate.

I would use the Allison dealer period. I had SMITH DETROIT / ALLISON service mine in Elko June 2016 . Complete oil flush replace with synthetic oil,new filters, run diagnostic. Total bill $560. Thats what they do and any problems they are nationwide.Trans temp dropped 15-20 deg.after service. Well worth it.
