Title: Fuel leak
Post by: Ken Ingram on December 24, 2016, 08:14:50 PM
Hello all,

I need help identifying a component on my engine, a 3126 Cat in a 1996 Monterey, that is leaking fuel.  It mounts on the left side (right side of coach) of the cylinder head, about midway front to rear.  It resembles a fuel pump, and has hoses leading to the fuel filters.  It also has two hard lines attached, but I'm unsure where they go.  Fuel is leaking from a parting line about halfway up the (I'm assuming) pump.  See attached photos.

My questions are:  If this is a pump, can I get a kit to reseal it?  Is there a good online store/dealer where I can get parts?  Can I remove it from the head by unbolting it and pulling it away from the head the same as one on a car gas engine?  Will I have to prime it after the repair?  How would I do that?

Thank you for any help.

Ken
