Title: Lifeline Battery Date Code
Post by: Larry Fisk on January 05, 2017, 10:11:00 PM
Hello fellow Beavers,
Does anyone know how to find the Lifeline Battery date codes and what they say? I was told the LP on the batteries I just purchased was the date code, so what would LP be?
Thanks,
Larry Fisk

Larry,
There are multiple coding systems for batteries. One of the most popular is a letter/number code where the letter designates the month and the number the year of mfg or shipment. e.g. H2 would be  August 2012
I've also seen a 5 letter code where the 4th is the year and fifth the month;  e.g. ABCKD;  K=2011, D=April
The actual date is sometime stamped into the lead terminals or etched into the side of some batteries. Your code of LP is confusing as I'm not sure what the P would indicate. Let us know if you figure it out. I looked on both the Lifeline and Concorde (parent co) web sites but no joy.

Thanks for your response Steve. I ended up calling Lifeline Battery. They didn't explain their coding system but when I told them mine was LP he stated it was manufactured in December 2016. So I assume the L corolates to December and the P to 2016.
