Stuck in the mud out in front of our house. Wheels arent buired, just slipping on short grass. RV is also on an uphill slope, about a 5% grade. We have tow ins as part of our policy. My question is does anyone have experence with a tow or pull for a short distance (10'). Will the tow operator know where to hook up to prevent damage to suspension and or front cap?

Is your generator on a slide in the front? If so pull the front cover off . They can run the cable or chain thru that opening. Had to do that only once.

Bill, any chance that a few bags full of sand would do it. Shovel it under the duals until you get out? If that works for a few feet then just make a pathway ahead of where the tires would go.

Have yoiu tried lifting the tag and putting more wight on the drive tires. Long shot but might help.

Having been stuck in the mud 4 times, in the past 2 winters, this is what i did.....First time, dug out behind the tires and laid cement stepping stones down to drive over. (A Florida RV park guide, in a golf cart, did a nice job of directing me right into the situation) Second time, laid 2x8 strips of plywood down. (courtesy of a Florida RV park) Third time, shut the coach down, went and had a drink and dinner and addressed it the next day, when it wasn't raining, and put some rocks and gravel behind the tires. Fourth time, dug out both ahead and behind the tire and laid down 1/4-1/2 gravel. (at home in Oregon in a December rain I was trying to go up a slight grade so I had to roll the coach back onto the gravel to roll forward)
Don't try to "rock the coach". Also, the more you sink the tires, the more work it is. Stop as soon as they start to spin and get started with something solid to roll up or back on. And last thing, when you get rolling, keep rolling, don't stop and don't go to fast.

We took Bill's advice and had a drink and dinner, then tackled it at first light (ok, I'm retired, so it was about noon!). Shoveled some road base behind the drive tires and some more in front, just enough to get us up and off the wet grass. The big Cat roared to life, and, first, reverse, then drive....and up and out! Thanks for the help!
