Title: loss of 12 V. house power
Post by: Bob Reeves on February 17, 2017, 07:13:15 PM
Have experienced sudden periodic loss of power from house batteries. They are charged. sometimes  I have been able to restore by resetting a batt disconnect button located in the run box in the engine compartment. Occasionally the power would come back on spontaneously after a while.  The longest outage was about 9 hers before I restored.  Thought it might be related to the batt cut off or a solenoid that is the on off for all lights and anything powered by 12 volts

Bob,
Sounds like your coach power solenoid is failing.

Bob,

I would agree with Steve, sounds l the solenoid. If I remember correctly on my 06 PT it has two solenoids that supply 12v to the coach in the rear run box, there is also one in the front run box below the drivers seat that goes to the salesman switch.

Thanks Steve and Lee
I tend to agree on the solenoid.  I thought it had some thermal component because on 2 occasions it went off and then later came back on without my help.  I have had one solenoid replaced about a year ago.  Also found it interesting that I can restart the house power by starting the engine.  Right now it has not shut down for about 24 hrs.  prior it might shut down 2-3 times a day.
