Title: AC output of inverter
Post by: Greg Ross on April 10, 2017, 11:13:11 PM
Our Magnum Inverter only puts 93 Volts AC I wonder is there an adjustment or is some think wrong with the inverter.

Greg,
Have you measured AC from shore power or generator to verify your meter is reading correctly?

Yes shore power 113 VAC

Shore power should be up around 120 Volts, 113 is really on the low side.

Greg,
If you are sure that your meter is correct and the no load voltage output of your inverter is 93 volts when you are unplugged from shore power with fully charged batteries, you need to have the inverter repaired. However, if you are reading that voltage when you are plugged into shore power, the problem is probably in the shore power circuit not being able to provide enough voltage at your consumption rate. But before you condemn your inverter, test the circuit with another meter to verify that yours is correct.
