Title: Low Pressure LP Port?
Post by: Andrew Bruemmer on June 04, 2017, 06:58:44 PM
Do Beavers have a low pressure LP port?  We are in the process of buying a 2002 Beaver Contessa.  Our travel trailer has one so our grill and 'fire pit' are setup to use it.  I didn't see a low pressure port so I'm wondering if I'm going to need to switch to using a 20lb propane tank and regulator for the grill and fire pit?

Andrew,
Check where the tank flexible line goes into the metal piping. Mine has a shut-off and spare port just beyond the shutoff.

Andrew,
From my knowledge, none of the 2002 Contessa coaches came fro the factory with a low pressure propane outlet, but they are an easy addition if you want one.

Not sure if this is correct for your application, but it may be a lead down the right road:

Isn't the system regulated at the tank?  Or is it at high pressure throughout the system and regulated at each appliance?

Adam,
All of your propane appliances run off of a low pressure regulator at the tank. The only exception in propane supply is on coaches that have a liquid propane tap to power a liquid propane fueled generator.

So if I wanted (like Andrew^^^) to add a low pressure port, it could be added at any convenient point in the system, then remove the regulator from, say a BBQ, and its good to go?
