"Why did you lock the Beaver," my wife asked. "Not locked," I replied as I got off the couch to prove my point. We have experienced a tough-to-open latch and I figured it just got the better of her. Nope, no joy. The keys, of course, were in the coach. Cutting to the chase: Jill finally got the door to open and I sprayed the latch with a healthy helping of WD40. Working easier now. Anything else I should do?

We had a similar issue and I had to crawl in a window to access the door. I found that when the inside door latch bezel was removed that the latch mechanism was catching on the interior surround, which had been weakened by time and previous persons. I purchased some acrylic panel material and reinforced the area where the tinnerman nuts which secured the bezel had broken away. After some jiggering to give the nuts a secure purchase and get the latch rod to clear the surround we have had no issues to date. Worth looking into.
