Title: Retractable Entry Steps Not Working
Post by: Allen Hughes on July 09, 2017, 06:21:30 AM
2006 PT retractable step stopped retracting for unknown reasons. Climbed underneath to investigate but see no obvious reason. They are stuck in the out position with the dash light indicating step out. The wiring diagram indicates the fuse is "hidden" with the location being "P/S Dash". I opened the gen set slide and found a fuse panel on the passenger side with about 10 fuses behind a plexiglass cover, but can't distinguish which fuse might be for the steps.

Any wisdom on this dilemma would be appreciated. Thanks

Al
missed you both at the party.  Sorry you had to go, it was great!
I believe that you have the same step as us, the SCS step?  If so you might try a strong magnet on the two door switches.  One is "in" but I forget which.  These are the magnet switches in the door jamb at the bottom of the opening on the left facing in.  Be sure that the switch is off.  Ours stopped and it was bad contacts.
