I have a 2006 Monterey. I bought the unit used with no information about the use of the keyless entry system. In taking to Monaco, they say my unit was born with an Essex keyless entry system. I have spoken with Essex and they say mine in not their equipment. My keypad has numbers and the word lock. Essex told me their systems do not have the word lock on the keypad. Does anyone else have a keypad with the word lock and would share the name of the manufacturer.
My unit does all kinds of crazy things in electrical and thunder storms like locking the entry door and cargo doors. You never leave the coach without your keys. I speak from experience.

Tom, your unit was made by Magnadyne. When the keypad gets wet it likely will misbehave. The pad itself should be sealed thoroughly to its escutcheon and then the escutcheon sealed equally well to the coach wall. Lexel is the best sealant for that.
You can find info from Magnadyne on their website. Bob Jae provided this link last month to what you probably need: http://beaveramb.org/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=5431.0;attach=5705 , and Steve Funk found a fellow in Calif. that may be helpful. Beaver Coach in Bend may also have access to replacements if needed.
See the thread http://beaveramb.org/forum/index.php/topic,5431.msg48444.html#msg48444
You may also benefit from checking the '05-'06 Monterey manuals available in the Club's Coach Assist section via the Members Only links of the General Boards found on the Home page of this Forum.

Note to Steve H.- perhaps that Magnadyne manual, referenced above (MKE300?), should be added to the Coach Assist roster, given how often issues regarding that system surface here.

Thank you for all the information. I do not know if there is much hope for my keypad but I did find a remote that had been put away that does work. We will keep on learning with a lot of help from the forum.
