Title: Battery boast switch
Post by: Steve Funk on July 22, 2017, 06:55:17 AM
How can I know the battery boast switch is working.  Just curious.  Never needed it to work yet but just in case I did how could I test it to see if it does.

Thanks

I'm sure there's a more technical method, but I'd try turning on the headlights with the engine and genset off, and disconnected from park power, and observe any intensity change as the boost switch is operated.

    Hi Joel,
Here is how I have been doing it for years although I like your generic solution. With your voltmeter, and the coach not plugged in, check the voltage at the house battery and then the chassis battery. there should be a difference. Next put a pocket screw driver under the momentary switch that activates the battery boost switch so it stays engaged. Check the voltage again at the batteries and it should be the same.
