Stop Engine light came on just as I pulled in my driveway. Coach had been i storage for a week. Ran an engine diagnostic and the Stop Engine lamp would blink twice and then go back to Engine Warning for about 5 seconds then to Stop Engine. Wondering what kind of fault code this is. Both the oil and water are in the proper ranges. All help appreciated.

For what its worth, the "stop engine Light" was not there this am. Engine made a normal start but I still need to know what caused the Stop Engine Light to come on.

With Engine warning and Stop Engine lights off, I drove on the interstate for about 10 miles and Engine Warning light came on. When I got back home, i ran another Diagnostic Check and the Engine warning light lit and the Stop Engine light started blinking with 2 blinks and stopping. I need some help here as I don't want to damage the ISL370 engine.

If your coach has a Silverleaf engine monitor, you can read the DTC (diagnostic trouble code) on it. I think that the Aladdin units have the same capability. You will need the DTC to tell why the "stop engine light" came on. Without the DTC, all you can do is check the coolant level in the expansion tank. The light turns on with some coaches when the coolant surge tank is low on coolant. If you can not determine the DTC, you will probably need to take your coach to a good truck shop or your local Cummins dealer.

William, reading your post on Cummins stop engine light coming on. What is happening
you have what is called a event code that resets its self and is not logged as per fault code
untill something fails, than it becomes a logged fault code. What I have found on many
Cummins engines with connecting computer with Cunnins Insite to data connector that in
many cases there is a dirty electrical connection that is triggering the event code to happen.
You will find the same when Cummins service puts computer on that you will have a inactive
event code listed many times but the code is inactive ( but high count ) first place to look
Electrical connections that snap together. This is a very commons problem with electrical

Thanks Gerald and Dave. I do have the Silverleaf Engine Monitor and on 9/26/17 it did record a fault of 108-4 and no recent fault. This is the same day I took coach in for service on the dash air. I did start the engine this am and no warning lights were on. Wondering if I should spray each electrical connection with QD Electronic Cleaner.

Coolant Surge Tank was on minimum mark with engine cold. I did add coolant to the half way level but no electrical wire to the coolant tank sensor. Never has been since I purchased coach.

William, the code 108-4 is not a good number in the code information for ISL Cummins engine. It
Is a good code for all Cat Electronic Engines. We are talking Cummins is that correct ? The code
For Caterpillar 108-4 is for Atmosphere pressure sensor voltage low which means dirty connection,

Hello Dave, Yes, we are definitely talking about the 2003 370 ISL Cummings Engine. I re-verified the Fault Code as 108-4. Coach originally had the Aladdin ECM but was changed out for the Silverleaf by previous owner. I have owned the coach for 2 years and this is the first time I have a fault code. Just got thru talking to Cummings Customer Assistance Center and initially they said the fault code 108-4 did not appear but said computer re-directed 108.4 to Code 222 or 6548. I think at this point I will clean the connections that go into the Silverleaf ECM. Your thoughts please. Thanks

William, thanks for the comeback information. The Code 222 is the same as the Caterpillar
information. Here’s is what I have for you from Cummins, Fault Code 222 Barometric Pressure Sensor Circuit- Voltage Below Normal, or Shorted to low voltage. Another name for sensor is Atmosthere
Pressure Sensor that Caterpillar uses. Location for barometric pressure sensor is mounted on the main branch of the engine harness near then ECM. Possible causes for fault code. Signal circuit open
to ground in the engine harness or sensor. ( sensor not much cost and easy to change ), Supply
Line open or shorted to ground. Engine will debate after 50 hours of engine operation. Event
Code will clear memory after 40 consecutive drive cycles. Can email hard copy on more information.

William, forget yesterday to explain that the Code 222 barometric pressure sensor or
atmosphere pressure sensor operation on engine. The barometric pressure sensor or
atmosphere pressure sensor measures the atmosphere
pressure in the crankcase. A signal is sent to engine ECM. What I would suggest check
Connection at the sensor ( clean connection ) if event code reappears on dash lamp than
I would suggest replacement of the sensor, just disconnect wire at sensor and unscrew
sensor and reinstall new sensor. Last note be sure to install little o-ring on bottom of

under the compressor the ECM? Can you tell me where the Atmosphere Presure Sensor is in relation to the ECM? Thanks, WBH

William, location of sensor in just above the ECM to rear, the sensor is placed along side
engine block with wire pig tail off main wire harness. Note: depending your engine serial number
The sensor is fasten in place with two cap screws to metal plate, or it is in same location
and is threaded into engine block. The little black box is your engine ECM and you can see
Wires going into box along the side facing you, again looking at side of ECM up and to rear
Of ECM behind or next to wire harness pig tail wire snaps into sensor on end. Look careful
If two cap screws hold little plate with sensor threaded into the plate, if no cap screws than sensor is threaded into engine block. Dave Atherton Retired Cat Mechanic

I only see 1 pig tail from the wiring loom and it is for the AC Compressor. Engine Serial #46221081.

William, your engine ECM is located middle or just near rear of engine block. There should
Be a filter in the near middle and sensor should be located real close toward the top of filter
facing toward front of engine is facing rear of motor home. Note it is right on block and only sticking out about 2 inches. On Year 2002 and earlier location is same side of engine but under the
Electric fuel pump at rear of block, but you indicated your engine is 2003 model.

Dave, does look like the Barometric Pressure Sensor??? It is located directly below the ECM. Is there a special tool to remove the plug in?

William, cannot tell where the main wire harness is in picture and pig tail running to sensor,
it looks like the sensor we are talking about. There is a snap lock clip on the top side of sensor
that has locking wire clip to hold wire in place. Send me your email address and I will send
