Title: Winterize part II
Post by: Lawrence Tarnoff on October 09, 2017, 08:53:10 PM
I'm about to start winterizing the water system and want to be sure I'm attaching my antifreeze tube to the correct connection.  I believe it's the port immediately above the filter in the pix below.  Oui?

Yes, that is the easy spot.  Be careful of the filter.  With age, those can crack.

You will know immediately because the pump will suck in the pink juice.  Worst case is the pump blows bubbles in the pink juice bottle.  It is a diaphragm type pump, so can run dry for awhile with no worries of damage.

When you unscrew the connection, have some towels.  Some water will spill.  Depending on the coach, where the water tank is and how full it is, water can start draining.  If that happens and you don't have a plug, screw it back on to the filter.   If you are winterizing it is best to have an empty water tank.
