GOOD DAY FELLOW BEAVERS: I have a 2005 Beaver Monterey 400 CAT engine 38 foot little beauty. There is a filter BF 12230 filter in my battery compartment. Is it a fuel - water filter? If so or whatever it is how often should I change it? THANK YOU SO MUCH!

If that's a Baldwin fuel filter like at the below link, I'd advise taking the coach to a reputable CAT shop, BCS, or Henderson's, and have both primary and secondary fuel filters switched back to genuine CAT filters.

On the correct primary, you can see any water and flotsam in the clear bottom and figure if it needs changing. But these are critical filters that many change annually, depending on coach mileage, and carry spares onboard.

KC, I have the same coach yes it is a beauty. As Joel said CAT filters only. I have been advised on several occasions to only use CAT filters to better protect the Huey system on these gems. I also installed the electric fuel pump that Dave Atherton advises on my rig, better performance and eliminates the surging that I was experiencing.
