Title: Power step not retracting
Post by: Marty and Suzie Schenck on October 20, 2017, 12:32:25 AM
2002 Patriot Thunder, I went out to move my coach and the power step won't retract. It has power going to it because as I move the rocker switch you can hear a mechanism click and the step light on the housing goes on and off. Any suggestions as to where to look? Thanks, Marty

Marty,
I am sure you have thought about the step binding.  My old '99 had a few problems and was binding and I found out that there was some corrosion in each of the moving areas.  That was enough to pop the automatic reset breaker.  After breaking the step loose with a crowbar and hammer, I used some rust inhibitor then oil and did not have another problem with it for the next 3 years.

Thank you Steve and Roy. Roy you were spot on. After lubing all the pivot points and giving it a nudge, it's working again.
Thanks again, Marty
