Title: Replace Roman curtains
Post by: Michael Peters on January 27, 2018, 05:37:35 AM
The roman curtains are deteriorating and I'm looking for replacement options. The motors are all working,so I am considering
replacing just the fabric ,but that would entail restringing. It may just be better to replace it all. I was wondering what others have
done? In looking online I've seen many options available. Any experience ?

Unless you see them yourself and restring, etc there are no other options but to replace the entire mechanism and shades. We had ours replaced in Bend. Even the original manufacturer in Colorado insists on replacing the whole system.

A few years ago we had one motor go out for our motorized Roman blinds.  I found the manufacturer in Colorado and the manager found only three motors in the whole USA that would fit my application.  Just so you know... if you hang new fabric on the old mechanism, then you may have a tough time finding parts, like replacement motors, for the old mechanism in the future.

If the price difference is even close to 50%, then I would strongly consider a new mechanism with the new fabric.

We had a 2002 and decided to replace them with MCD shades and were very happy.
