Where do I go to get information on adjusting the ride height on my '2000 patriot  :-/

Do a search of this board for "ride height" and you will find stacks of information.  Your owners manual should show you how to check the ride height.  Checking it is not too threatening but you are in harms way.  Adjusting it is a whole different ball game, as pointed out in many past posts, and proper equipment must be used for safety.
