I have to replace the end plate on one of our Carefree of Colorado slide toppers (the one which has the spring attached) does anyone know how many turns are needed to start. (slide retracted)

Some weeks back I happened across a couple of You Tube videos related to handling those. You might do a search there to see if you can find the info you want.

Greg, due to file size limitations I cannot easily send you a copy of the Carefree Slide Topper manual but if you provide your email address by P.M. I’ll forward it directly.
Essentially you measure the length of the slideout, front to back, if 47 inches or less you use 11 winds to the spring with the slideout in.
Four feet to 13’ 11” it's the length of the slideout box in feet plus seven winds and if the slideout is greater than 14 feet and up to 16’ 4” you'd wind the spring 21 revolutions.
Example: Box length is 10’ 4” wind spring 10 + 7= 17 turns. Always round down to the nearest whole number.
