Title: front wheel bearing grease service interval.
Post by: Jim Edwards on May 31, 2018, 02:59:08 PM
Hi I have a 05 Monterey with Grease not oil in the front bearings. Manual indicates service interval for oil and that it has oil but it doesn't. Any body have an idea on service interval for grease?
Thanks Jim

Jim, my book for my 03 Monterey has 30,000 miles but I do my own maintenance and changed to 50,000. It has 136,000 on the odometer and doing well.

When we hit 30,000 miles in the '04 Monterey the price of changing to oil was almost the same as repacking with grease.  Both required the labor and seals.  The service interval for oil is much longer.

Jim

In the 2005 Beaver Lube manual, pg 33, also says 30k miles for repacking front wheel bearings.
