Title: Bathroom and Hall Fans dont work
Post by: Jason Worman on August 01, 2018, 05:17:04 AM
Hi again,

Sorry for all my questions. On our 91 Contessa I found that the bathroom and kitchen Fantstic Fans covers raise and lower but neither fan comes on. Any ideas? Thanks

Betca this is it Jason.
When the lid raises there is a small silver button on a spring that pops up so turning on the fan.  If these become corroded they won't pop up.
The solution is a touch of WD40 and a small wire brush.  Buff, wipe and lube them.  You should get free movement on them with just your finger!

Don't worry about the questions.  There is no quota!  Lol

Jason, Keith forgot to mention that access to this pesky switch is up on the roof. Be advised that the fans will come on when you get the spring switch working. Attaboy to Keith as that is usually the problem.

Thank you to everyone! Joining this forum has paid for itself today. Finally had time today to get on the roof. The pins to fans were frozen, I scrubbed with wire brush and added WD-40 and presto! Fans fired right up. Thank you!
