Title: Does the propane stove work on 12 Volt DC OR 110 Volt AC
Post by: Jason Worman on January 02, 2019, 01:57:33 AM
So  I am wondering, does our Gaggenau Gas range work on 12V DC or 110V AC? Sorry for simple questions. Thanks

Ours doesn't need either, 12v or 110. All it needs it propane and a match. LOL!!

All the RV gas stove tops and ovens we’ve had, ca. 1985 to 2006, used 12 volt igniters and valve solenoids.

I don't know how the Oven is powered, but the Gas Cooktop on my 2005 is 120VAC according to the manual.

I have the Gaggenau VG 232 model. The manual is too large to attach here, but this is the technical spec page:

The only thing that is electric on our propane 2-burner stove is the igniter. It is connected to 110 volts.

On mine, if you look in the cabinet just to the right of the stove, you can see where it plugs into 115AC.  That only operates the igniter as mentioned above.

Since the Gaggenau cook tops are designed as high end residential units, they all require residential power (120 volt AC current) to operate the ignition circuit. However, any of the cook tops designed exclusively for RV use like Suburban or Atwood will operate on 12 volts if any power is needed to operate.
