While repairing my wipers squirters I noticed a cable that was not hooked to the heater control valve. It is all rusted and needs to be replaced. I see it is connected to the heater/ac temp control on the dash. Anyone have a part number or break down of parts on this?

Do you have a heater valve similar to this one?
You can get universal control cable at NAPA https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/TWRMEI2541
Also a call to "Beaver Coach Sales" is always a good starting point.

The control valve is ok. I lubed up the cable and it is free. The dash control will push the cable in for cold but does nothing when I turn the knob to hot. Does the water pressure push the cable back to the hot position? or is there a return spring missing?

If I recall, you have three knobs for AC/Heat. No sliding lever.
One knob is the fan speed, one knob is Temperature Control, the other knob is Function selector (Defrost, AC ducts, Vent, etc).
The fan is electrical switch, the Temp Control has the cable attached, and the Function control is vacuum operated (opens/closes blend door and vent/defrost doors).
Does this describe your setup?

Yes is the cable temp control. I took the control apart and saw nothing wrong with it. Put it together and it works fine.....Go Figure......
