Has anyone had to replace a rear air bag on a 98 through 02, Marquis. I think they would be the Same, I’m have difficulty finding the correct air bags for my 98. The original air bag is a Goodyear 1R12-431. No one that I’ve talked to can find that number in there system. So if anyone has had to replace a air bag let me know what you did for a new one or if no body has had that problem I will go with my original air bags and put my coach back together.

Could that number be a 1R12-437? Is the number clear?
I see the the 1R12-437 in the Goodyear catalog fit Ridewell suspensions.

On my coach they are the same number via Beaver 1R12-431. After doing some research I found that the same Exact Same Goodyear bag is the part number 1R12-492. The only difference is the 431 bag and the 492 bag is the top and bottom plates are clocked 45 degrees apart instead of exact. Meaning the 431 top plate bolts and bottom mounting holes are even mounting. The 492 top bolts and bottom mounting holes are about 45 degrees off. I loosened the bottom piston nut with my impact, aligned all mounting bolts and holes, top to the bottom and then re-tourqed the piston nut. The 431 bag is specific to Beaver and you will pay a premium price if you can find one. The 492 bag is a common bag and is under 175 bucks. Just do a online search for the 1r12-492 plenty out there.

Thanks Pat, that helps. I have 4 of the 492 coming. Hopefully next week they can put the old Beaver back together.

I have a 2000 Marquis. On May 25th a tire blow-out took out a rear bag. It was a Goodyear 1R12-431. Shop confirmed the 431 is obsolete and replaced by 492. As other said it is the same bag but does require it be clocked by 45 degrees. The Firestone equivalent is W01-358-8806.
