Title: Shock bolt torque
Post by: Adam Hicklin on May 10, 2019, 05:56:53 PM
Does anyone know the torque setting for the shock absorber bolts?

Thanks in advance.

Usually you can go by the torque for the bolt diameter (bolt, not head). Say 1/2" bolt, 50 ft lbs or so. Google SAE bolt torque.

Adam,
One other thing that you need to know when looking up bolt torque is the SAE bolt grade. You can look at the bolt head for markings, but if it is a stud, I would assume that a suspension bolt would be SAE grade 6, but some are SAE grade 8.
