Rodents got into my engine compartment and tore loose some insulation away from the wooden housing around the motor. Upon returning from Colorado I noticed a rather large piece that was located just above the radiator fan, completely gone. I can only assume that it fell into the fan while driving back from Colorado. On inspection it looks like there is no kind of damage, just some missing insulation. It looks like it would be a bear to put it back in, so is it really necessary to actually put it back in?

Fred,
Lack of insulation will result in increased heat and noise inside the closet and bedroom. If you replace it, use high temp adhesive or staples. Also be sure the actual insulation is fire resistant. I used insulation with a foil face to reflect the heat.
