Title: Beautiful Wood Shiny Cabinets

We just bought a 2008 Marquis and it has shinny woodwork.  My question is, what kind of polish/conditioner or cleaner is ok to use?

We use Oz Cream Polish.

   That is what Gerald Ferris recommends. I made the mistake of using pledge and they started to turn milky. I've been experimenting with different finishes. Fred

Nice job!
I'm going to order some of that OZ Cream polish now.
I just hope it doesn't take too much elbow grease too, as I'm running low on that.  ;D

Cabinets look amazing, we have a 02 Marquis Tourmaline and have fulltimed 4 yrs in it. We bought Oz our first yr and clean and polish regularly but haven’t achieved those results. How did you apply and polish to get those results.  Thank you in advance!!  Great Job!

   Sorry Guys, The OZ polish did not do that. The "OZ" is for cleaning and protecting the existing original finish. Once the finish turns milky, there is no fix. I tried every paint & epoxy remover I  could find and none of them would remove the original polyester resin finish. So I sanded and sanded until I got it down to the original wood. Finished sanding with 220 grit sand paper. Stain with ZAR cherry and finish with Parks Super Glaze. Beyond a labor of love...….. Fred

So, Fred, how did you deal with the veneer at the center of the door?  Looks like you just sanded it off and left it that way.

   Jerry, Folks have been dealing with veneer overlays for years and years. If you are a purest, then follow the procedures listed in our owner links & threads. The issue IMHO is the solid wood center panels and the veneer overlays have 2 different expansion rates and the weaker (veneer) is inclined to curl on the edges.
   I happen to LOVE cherry wood because of the way it "tans" and ages and reveals the character of the wood. I removed the veneer overlays with a little lacquer thinner and peeled it off. Sand with 220 and stain with Zar cherry and then apply the glaze finish. I am still experimenting with various methods and will advise if I ever succeed.
