The latching mechanisms on our driver side living room slide is very stiff (Both the top and bottom forward and aft). any recommendations on lubricating them?

The advice I was given by Chris Throgmortin of Talin RV was to pour oil down the lock covers from the top once a year. Haven't tried it yet myself so I can't recommend or not. Let me know if you try it.

Had BCS check out the slide locks when we were there a year ago. The tech said he removed all the black auto body fasteners from the slide lock covers, cleaned and lubed the mechanism. He replaced all the auto body fasteners with new and he said how expensive they were to replace, but I can't remember the cost. The silde locks work, I guess is all that matters. I read the same advice about pouring a quart of oil down the side, boy, I bet it takes a while for all that oil to drip out.

UPDATE: Drilled out plastic rivets holding plastic cover, sprayed with waterproof silicone lube, work like new now. Thanks all.

What did you use to put the covers back on?

Short aluminum rivets. All in all much less messy than motor oil method. (We'll be in ORL in late Jan if you want to see and borrow rivet tool.) email me if interested.
