				On my 2005 Patriot Thunder, both rear (bedroom) slides are hydraulic and controlled from switches on the wall plate (along with the bedroom lighting) at the entrance to the bedroom.
 
 Does anyone know how these rear slide room switches are wired? Where does the power come from - is there a relay in the circuit?
 
 I have the PT wiring diagram but it doesn't cover the slides. The "relay" in the front run box (marked "Slide Out") is only for the two front slides. I don't see anything for the rear slides.

				   Hi Mike, have you looked inside the box that has the bird and big boy charge relay? Monaco is famous for putting relays hidden in the circuit. Merry Christmas! Fred

				Here is an interesting bit about Monaco era slide. Last summer, when we stopped at HWH on the way home, the man who looked at our slides (the head of service) said the bedroom slides were not HWH, they were some other manufacturer. He also said they are electric, not hydraulic.
 
 I do know my bedroom slides mechanism is the scissor type, not the hydraulic rams. The switches are in the same place as yours, Mike. On a panel inside the bedroom door, along with the light switches for the bedroom and the vanity in the hall.
 
 In my electrical bay, the schematic shows K5 as a relay for Slide Out.

				Stan, our passenger rear slide is also the scissor type. Yet it has two hydraulic rams on each left and right scissor. No electric

				Stan, our 4 slide Monterey uses an electric slide only for the one the (streetside) bed is in.  Like Jim’s, our small curbside bedroom slide is hydraulic scissors style.  I haven’t heard of that slide being electric and scissors.  If you look closely behind the scissors mechanism you see the hydraulics part.  Perhaps you misunderstood the HWH fellow, and he meant just that only the bed itself is on an electric, non-HWH slide.  Or are we misunderstanding the way you wrote your post above?

 That (K3, in my coach) relay in the front is only for the front slides.
 
 The bed slide, and wardrobe slide are hydraulic on my coach. I have removed the trim and examined all the mechanisms previously.
 
 If there is a relay for the bedroom slides it is Not in the front electric bay. Maybe it is behind the switches in the bedroom wall.
 
 The slides are working. I'm looking for a relay (control power) if there is one - or I can interrupt the power at the slide switches. The key is to find a location that is easy to get to and close to the front of the coach. This is just to do a modification that I've been wanting to do.

				Mike, I don't have a wiring diagram, but, if the slides are hydraulic (as I think my '05 Patriot is), the switch has to control first, the proper solenoid for that particular slide, then the pump comes on (vial a relay) to move the slide. Based on this assumption, the wall switch is only doing 'pilot duty' as the solenoid is a low current device. The pump relay, then, is common to all the slides, only the solenoids change state when activated by their individual switches. Maybe I'm stating the obvious. Anyway, if you want to control the rear bedroom slides from the front of the coach, you only have to find the bedroom slide solenoid and parallel a switch from there. Or, buy an '06-forward coach with multiplex wiring!!

				Yes, I thought about doing the wiring at the pump solenoid. 
 
 It's easy enough to get to.  I'll have to think about how to do it that way (at the pump) - as there is an "interlock" in the circuit now that prevents bedroom slides from working when the ignition key is On. I don't want to back feed that interlock circuit.
 
 The mod I'm doing is to: one, prevent all slide rooms from operating via a single rocker switch on dash (so one does not accidentally move/bump the bedroom slides while feeling around for the light switch). So when the dash rocker switch is Off, no slide rooms operate.
 
 And two, When the dash switch is On, I can operate the slide rooms via the "factory switches" regardless of whether or not Ignition Key is On or Off and with the engine running.
 This way when I'm ready to leave campsite I can start the engine and build air pressure then go into travel mode, and run the slides in without having to shutoff the engine/ignition to move slides, then restart engine to leave campsite.
 
 I've already done this with the front slides, via the Slide relay in the front electrical bay compartment. Now just need to get bedroom slides wired in.

				Hey Mike, On my Patriot, there is a bright red sticker next to the level control switch that says to operate the slide outs BEFORE leveling. So when I pull into a campsite, I first run out the slides (engine off due to the interlock) then fire up the cat to build air pressure and hit level.

				Mine is the same. 
 The coach needs to be in Travel mode and at "ride height" before running the Slides in or out. Coming into the campsite it's not a problem (as coach is aired up and at ride height). I can just shut off engine and then level.
 
 But after a couple of days camping my rig will be out of air, then I have to start the engine build up air and then go into travel mode. Once the air pressure is up and coach is at ride height, then I have to shut off engine to operate slides (slides wont work with ignition key On).
 
 With my mod, I don't need to shut the engine off - I just need to build up air pressure get to ride height, then run the slides in.

				You're right, Mike, my Bad! Ride height (travel mode) and level are two different things. When we leave, I'll run the engine to air up to 'travel mode', (actually, I wait until the air dryer blasts off) then shut down and pull in slides. Do the walkaround, then fire  up and take off.

 I distinctly remember the guy from HWH saying my bedroom slides were not HWH. I have seen the mechanism for the curbside bedroom slide, because the mounting bolts came off a couple of years ago, and they had to be repaired. I'm not mechanically knowledgeable to say I saw any 'rams' as described by Jim Nichols, not to say they are not there. I have never seen the mechanism for the street-side bedroom slide (headboard), and the bottom when viewed from the outside when it is extended is a all enclosed.
 
 As for leveling, my procedure is exactly like Mike and Bill described. Pull in to camp site. Use app on phone to see if I can get a satellite signal, then use walkie talkie to let Becky know three slides can come out. We leave the street-side bedroom in until I am done hooking up shore power. (can't tell you how many times I used to bang my head on it) When we are all hooked up..shore power (okay slide out), water, sewer, then I come in and start the coach, and level with the automatic air. And THEN put up the DISH. I always "air up" to ride height before retracting slides.

				Maybe on the Monterey they are not HWH - but on my Patriot they are. The wardrobe side has the HWH "Spacemaker Lateral Arm with Torsion Tube" slide and the bed side has "Single Cylinder Rail style" slide.
 Perhaps that's why they call these coaches "snowflakes". No two are alike.
