Title: Inverter question
Post by: Mike Jones on January 07, 2020, 04:03:01 AM
I have a xantrex Freedom SW 2000 watt inverter that disables once I start my coach. I just bought this coach at the end of last year, so I am still trying to figure everything out. The inverter is only about a year old. It works fine until I start the engine and then it shuts off. Any ideas?  My coach is a 2001 Marquis Amethyst.

Thanks

Mike

    Mike, when you say shuts off, are you referring to the monitor panel turning off and no indication of any activity?
The Inverter/Converter is also your battery charger when plugged into shore power. The charge LED should be on when on shore power or when the generator. Please advise. Fred

It stops inverting power to the outlets.

Mike, Read about inverter operation on page 3 of the manual: Ignition Control;
Looks like the ignition option is configurable.

   Mike, What is the voltage in your house batteries when on shore power? and what is the voltage after you unplug the shore cord? You state that your Xantrex SW-2000 shuts down when you start the coach. That model has no provision for an ignition lock out. The inverter/converter has a pass-thru circuit when on shore power and when you unplug the inverter circuit should come if it was in the stand-by mode. Incidentally, I believe that unit has a 3 year warranty I think if the unit has an issue. Hope this helps, Fred

Oops; I posted the wrong manual! Here's the correct manual:

And here is the manual for the remote; There is a 12v lockout feature

Bill and Fred.

Thanks for all the info.
The weather has turned for the worse here in Montana, so I will have to wait a little while to do more investigating.

Thanks Again
